cf premiere: twin talk “always left”

Long-running Chicago-based trio Trin Talk share brand new video for “Always Left”. Taken from their forthcoming album ‘Twin Talk Live’, due for release 27 September on Shifting Paradigm Records.

The trio is formed of bassist/singer Katie Ernst, recently heard touring with Iron and Wine, tenor saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, who we first heard on the Snaarj project with Josh Johnson & Ben Lumsdaine, and drummer Andrew Green, whose other projects include everything from an orchestral folk group to a samba percussion Bloco.

Laurenzi created the accompanying music video himself, purposefully mirroring the playful, gradually morphing, grooving nature of the music, as it builds into a melodic whirlwind.

On ‘Twin Talk Live’ Twin Talk tip-toe between tightly tuned collective improvisation and compositions. The album showcases their strong chemistry and understanding of each other that has contributed to earthy and loose grooves and melodic spirit.

The album provides much more for listenings to dig their teeth into. Almost literally as it will be available on vinyl, CD and digital.

‘Twin Talk Live’ is released on 27 September on Shifting Paradigm Records.
